Events & Fundraisers

One of Rainbird's promises is to raise money. Lots of it. The kind of money that ends child abuse. We do this with events and fundraisers, building local partnerships and garnering media attention - the *good* kind of media attention, rather than the kind when a geriatric plows through a farmer's market. Call us to find out about how to have a Rainbird event in your community. They're like a big fun party, but you don't have to put your keys in a basket.

 The 1,000 Mile Journey

The 1,000 Mile Journey is a 1-mile walk around the state capitol or gov't. building with 1,000 or more people who are taking a stand for the end of child abuse. This family event will happen in every state of our great nation. The 1,000 Mile Journey provides us with the opportunity to increase the base of people standing for the end, media coverage for the end, and partnerships with other non-profits committed to the end. The 1,000 Mile Journey is the fastest and most powerful way to accomplish all of our promises. You can bring The 1,000 Mile Journey to your state. Call us and we'll tell you how. (Please don't call us and just breathe real heavy. We used to be into that sort of thing, but we were young and trashy then.)

2012 1,000 Mile Journey in Clinton, IA:  Sunday June 10
2012 1,000 Mile Journey in Madison, WI:  Sunday September 30
2011 1,000 Mile Journey in Madison, WI:  Sunday July 31
2010 1,000 Mile Journey, Madison, WI

Dinners & Cocktail Parties

You can host a cocktail party or dinner in your home for friends, family, and colleagues to meet our founders and learn about Rainbird and this crazy idea called taking a stand for the End. You will have an opportunity to learn about the condition of child abuse nationally and globally, and network with others committed to the end of child abuse to build local projects and become a financial contributor to the end of child abuse. Let's face it, cocktail parties are awesome because everybody gets drunk and sloppy, contributes lots of money, then goes home with someone they just met. It's a WIN for everyone!

Friends of Rainbird

Friends of Rainbird make a one year commitment to a monthly financial contribution to express their commitment to the end of child abuse. This contribution gives Rainbird a solid financial base on which to work.  Mmmm, we're gonna try with a little help from our friends, Mmmm, get hi.....uh, nevermind.

To be a friend of Rainbird, click the pink button below. Choose the monthly amount in the pulldown and click the Red Monthly Contribution button.
